How Smart Parents Choose Baby Clothes

Your baby deserves the most adorable outfits. And with all the different baby clothes options available, you may find that you have a different set of clothes for different times of the year.

How then, should you choose the clothes that your baby will wear? Here are some tips.

It is extremely important to have the right kind of baby clothes for your baby so that they stay comfy whether it's warm or cold. But every baby is unique: some are larger, some slimmer. And of course, they are always growing. So it can be a little difficult to get the clothes to keep up with your baby's growth.  

Room to grow into
What you should do is always get clothes that are slightly larger than your baby currently is. This way, your baby will gradually grow into these clothes and so the clothes will last longer. Remember, if you buy your baby clothes that are a nice fit, it will only be a matter of weeks before that cute outfit no longer fits.

Room for diapers
Keep in mind that your baby clothes also needs enough room for the diapers! Make sure that the outfits are a little flexible as once the diapers go on, the baby will need a lot more space around the bottom. Take note that some dry diapers expand when full.  

Comfort all year round
Also take into consideration the climate that your baby is in. Babies in warm, humid Singapore would not appreciate being bundled in multiple layers when out and about. Instead get a cute sundress or a cool bodysuit. If your baby spends a lot of time in colder places, like in air-conditioned rooms or countries with colder climates, then have fun with warm hats, gloves and scarves to wrap your baby in. (This is also an excuse for you to fun dressing up your baby.)
The best baby clothes are soft and comfortable for your baby.  Having clothes that are comfortable for your baby will help them to sleep better and be warmer throughout the night.  When your baby is warm and sleeping, you will be able to relax and have good sleep as well.  

Safety issues
One thing to note is baby safety. Avoid baby clothes that have a lot of buttons, since your baby might pull off the buttons and try to chew them. Also avoid clothes with cheap prints that can come off easily. Your baby might just decide to snack on the peeled prints!
